Introduction

Brindle coats (or coats with tiger stripes) are regarded as really beautiful and they are accepted as the official coat color in many breeds.

Short-haired dog breeds are more likely to have brindle coat pattern than long-haired ones, also, some breeds are prone to ‘tiger striped’ fur.

Treeing Tennessee Brindle

For the first time, this breed has been described in 1960’s and today it is accepted by American Kennel Club.

Treeing Tennessee Brindle is a lively and wit companion used in hunting down and treeing the animals. The dog has a strong sense of smell and is able to accept the decisions very fast.

To speak about its exterior, Treeing Tennessee Brindle is a medium-sized dog who doesn’t weight more than 23 kg. Besides, brindle coat pattern is the only one accepted within a breed.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a dog of medium size with massive body, strong muzzle and jaws. In spite of the fact, that the breed was created for blood sports and the dog itself looks a little bit scary, Staffordshire Bull Terrier can become a perfect family member if trained and socialized in the right way.

Brindle is one of the accepted colors within the breed. Moreover, their coat type is easy to groom and it doesn’t require frequent brushing.

Be careful! In case Staffordshire Bull Terrier is not trained and socialized properly, this dog may become uncontrollable and dangerous.

Boxer

Boxer is a German dog breed of medium size. This dog breed is lively and energetic, so it needs constant physical training. Boxer is a perfect pet for a family: it is loyal, affectionate and always wants to be near its master. The dog is really intelligent and easy-to-train.

As for its appearance, brindle coat pattern is one of the acceptable colors within the breed. Boxer has short coat that is very easy to groom and keep clean.

Warning! As any other dog breed, Boxer should be trained and socialized from its puppyhood.

Boston Terrier

The Boston Terrier breed has been originated in the USA. The usual colors are black, seal with white markings, but also brindle. Boston Terrier’s coat is short and doesn’t need too much grooming activities.

When it comes to Boston Terrier appearance, the dog has a small massive body, erected ears, flat muzzle and cropped tail. Speaking about its temperament, Boston Terrier is active and curious creature who doesn’t realize its own small size. Boston Terrier is brave and always protect its master.

Advice: if you live in a small flat or don’t have a backyard, the Boston Terrier will be an ideal solution for you: this dog doesn’t need much space and doesn’t mind to live indoors.

Great Dane

The Great Dane is a dog of a gigantic size (76 cm at the withers) originated in Germany and has been used to hunt big animals. Even though the dog of this size may look intimidating, the Great Dane character is gentle and friendly.

The coat of Great Dane is always short and comes in a variety of sizes and markings (brindle color is among them).

Recommendation: Great Dane is recommended as a great candidate for families with children.

Cursinu

The Cursinu is a dog breed of medium to big size that originated in Corsica (France). Brindle coat is very popular among this breed. The dog is used as a herd and as a hunter on rabbit, deer and boar. The average size of Cursinu is 50 cm at the withers.
