Labrador Retriever Skin Problem: Parasites and Mites

Introduction

In short, it can cause the Labrador and his owner serious discomfort. These mites burrow into the skin, causing itching and hair loss.

Caution! With any skin problems it is important to react immediately, for if you don’t deal with them quickly, it can lead to the fact that the dog will injure itself, as it’s cutting its own skin, trying to get rid of discomfort.

Ticks and fleas are the parasites which are most likely to appear and become the major cause of problems for Labradors. A flea lives off the dog’s blood, it replicates rapidly.

Labrador, who contracted the fleas will continue to itch, especially in the ears, base of a tail and patella. Incredibly, irritation in dogs is not caused by flea bites, but by their own saliva.

Attention! Dogs’ allergies to the saliva develop skin irritation, and the situation worsens when the dog is trying to alleviate the problem, gnawing itself.

If the skin problems of your Labrador caused by fleas, it is important that you use the treatment of a wide spectrum of action, which will kill fleas and their eggs. You also will need to consult a vet about allergy remedies for your dog.
