Introduction

The Cheagle is a small statured designer breed that was created by means of crossing the Chihuahua and the Beagle. This breed was firstly originated in the USA and has immediately gained wide popularity among dog lowers due its cuteness and affection to a man.

Appearance and Size

A mixture’s genetic buildup is not always 50% Chihuahua and 50% Beagle – crossbreed dogs may vary in terms of exterior. As a rule, a Cheagle possesses broad head as the Beagle and also having a snout similar to its Chihuahua parent. Besides, they may have floppy and long years as Beagle, round-shaped eyes of dark-brown color and curved tail.

Otherwise, a Cheagle may inherit erect high-set ears and a sickle-shaped tail curled at the back as this of Chihuahua. Legs are from medium to thin and tall, a body is stocky and strong.
An approximate size of a Cheagle is from 9 to 14 inches at shoulder, a dog will weigh 9-20 pounds.

Shedding

A Beagle-Chihuahua mixture may have short or middle coat that sheds just occasionally and doesn’t need some special grooming activities.

A color of a coat, its density and patter may vary greatly and most of the time depends on the particular parents: from brown and chocolate spotted coat on a white background (Beagle pattern) to black, red, sandy, etc. coat of uniform nature or with spots (Chihuahua pattern).

Lifespan and Possible Health Concerns

An average life span of an Cheagle is about 10-15 years (the smaller is a dog the longer it will live). The general health issues with Cheagles are patellar luxation and heart problems.

Be careful! A Cheagle’s owner should bear in mind, that this breed is not tolerable to cold.

Other health concerns (less frequent) are hip dysplasia, eye problems and low blood sugar.

Warning! A state of Cheagle health is not about its heredity, but is the question of a dog owner care and responsibility. It is advisable to look at dog’s healthy diet and give it necessary environment to be active. It is also crucial not to neglect well-timed vet examinations, annual immunization, protection against ticks and tapeworms.

Character and Other Information about Cheagle

Speaking about Cheagle’s character it is possible to say, that, these dogs are extremely devoted to their owners and family: there are no other dogs like small breeds that will love their master more. This dog needs to be near its owner 24 hours a day and can’t stand even a short parting.

Advice: starting to keep a Cheagle, an owner should remember, that, this dog is not likely to go through the adoption by a new owner in the future. A Cheagle (like other small dogs) is very closely knit with its current family.

Another important information: a Cheagle is a great dog for singles looking for a companion, active older people, couples or families with older children.

What concerns Cheagle’s temperament, this dog is very active and is a real fidget. It wants to play and spin around its owner all day long. Besides, this dog may be apprehensive and can be easily intimidated by other dogs. A Cheagle always try to protect its owner that is why it is prone to barking on strangers.

Recommendation: if your Cheagle is hyperactive, you need to give it an environment to be active and release its power. It is necessary to give its activity a right way, play with the dog, otherwise it can start to spoil some of your belongings.

Cheagle is a perfect dog for families with older children or for singles who want to find a devoted companion. This dog needs a company and will be very unhappy to be alone for a long time.

Though this dog can be apprehensive, it always to protect its owner. This is the sort of dog, that will be always near you and claim constant attention. Cheagle is affectionate, devoted and loving pet that will make your life positive than ever.

My mailman started giving my Cheagle treats. I told him to stop, but she was already chasing after his vehicle

Well he ran over her I am looking for another cheagle please help me locate someone who raises them.
