Weight Chart

The weight of these dogs is not restricted, at the same height the dog can weigh from 14 to 36, the main thing is that it should be muscle weight, and fat deposits can be on the sides and belly. According to charts the ideal weight is considered to be from 16 to 25 kg, depending on the proportions and loadings on the dog.

Feeding

In the nutrition of an American Pitbull Terrier the main rule should be balance. The dog must get all the useful vitamins and minerals. You should create a certain pet regimen of feeding.

Advise: a puppy should be fed about 6 – 7 times a day in small portions, and as they grow the number of meals should be reduced, and the volume of the portions increase. Thus, an adult dog should eat 1 – 2 (but not more) times a day.

It is very important that the bowl of a pet should always have clean water.

As for the diet, in the case of Pitbulls, as with any other breed, feeding can be in the form of dry food or natural products. When choosing the first option there is only one rule which is that the food should be only of the highest class.

If you decide to feed your pet with natural food, there is, a certain list of products recommended for this breed.
These include:

  • cooked meat, but not pork. Better suited is beef or veal;
  • boiled eggs. Though they are useful, but do not abuse them. Two egg a week will be enough to avoid pulling the weight;
  • a lot of nutrients and vitamins contained in the boiled fish;
  • cottage cheese will do no harm for sure. Sometimes you can give cheese, but it’s better to use it not as the main food, but as treats or rewards during training, as cheese is not included in the preferred list for the breed’s products;
  • the menu must contain fruit and fresh vegetables.

Remember that your dog is a full-fledged member of the family, which has its own food preferences. It is normal if a dog refuses to eat what you will feed him.

Caution! In any case, don’t force the pitbull and don’t make it hunger so it eats all of it. Just watch the pet a bit and you will understand what it likes and what not.

If you take into account its preferences, problems with the food of your Pitbull Terrier will not occur.
